Wonders of Indian Wilderness by Erach Bharucha. It's a set of 3 books- A History of Nature Conservation in India, National parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries of India and The Nature of Biodiversity in India.

'It's a big big world - Atlas'.

This giant children atlas that offers a dynamic approach to learning, and is a visual extravaganza filled with information about the world’s geography, industry, resources, and wildlife is our book of the day. It is a giant board book with pictograms providing keys to each informative map.

Book of the Day 7th Sept 2010

Book of the day on the 3rd day of Chennai Wall was Tales of Krishna from Srimannarayaneeyam written by Parvathy Sankaran.

Parvathy, the author of Tales of Krishna from Srimannarayaneeyam had 51 copies of the book donated by her husband to the Aviva Great Wall of Education on her behalf as she was unable to do so in person owing to her illness.

Book of the day for 8th Sept was a book called "Monuments of India" donated by Mrinalini Venkateswaran with a handwritten message "It gives me great pleasure to donate this book to Hindu-Aviva initiative, Excellent effort!"

Book of the day on the final day of the Chennai Book Wall was a collection of books called "Total Development Program 'Values'- A Child's first Library of Values". It is specifically designed help in the developmental processes of young children focusing on knowledge skills and values required for the total development of a child.

Book of the day 1st Sept 2010

The book of the day is "The Giant All-Colour Dictionary" . The book was donated by Raima Sen. The book held special significance, as it was gifted to her by her mother, in 1989 when she was 10. She wanted to share the same with the underprivileged children.













Book of the day 2nd Sept 2010

Daily Book Count - 58,100 books



The book of the day is "Little Red Riding Hood” donated by Shreya. This is her first story book. She wants to grow up to become a teacher. Her mother told us that Shreya is very friendly with the maid’s daughter and shares all her toys with her. Her mother gave a message to the children on Shreya’s behalf – "May all children be loved and cared for and receive an education that would help them in the future".

Book of the day 3rd Sept 2010

Book of the day on the third day of Aviva Great wall of Education is "Tell Me How" – a series of 5 books. It was a poignant moment when a little girl came to donate her favorite books to the underprivileged children because she thought they needed them more. Her father informed us that when he explained her about Aviva's initiative one evening, she brought these books from her room and said "I want to donate these books". Her father was astounded because reading these books topped her 'Favorite things to do' list. To this she said, "Dad, I have already read these books and you can buy me more. But these children need the books more than me". Her father added - "I hope the child who gets these books loves them as much as my daughter did"

Book of the day 4th Sept 2010

All the books donated by students of Alok Pathshala are our books of the day as they are donated by the underprivileged children to other underprivileged children, and are most relevant to them.

The Book of the day is Advent of the Aliens by Sahil Fatehpuria - this kid donated 100 copies of this book which is written by himself! he is just 10 years old. he wants to donate books to all the children who cannot afford education and thinks that story books is a great way of learning. He plans to write a lot many more books n future. Kudos to the kid!
