National Geographic Channel and Aviva come to search for
India’s Young Scholars
Students from 9 cities win the Aviva Young Scholar Nat Geo Junior Hunt,
1 more city to go
As part of Aviva Life Insurance and National Geographic Channel’s quest for India’s brightest young minds – Aviva Young Scholar Nat Geo Junior Hunt city finals were organised at 9 cities. The city finals, infused with a host of exciting activities, culminated with 18 students emerging as the winners who will represent their respective cities at the next level of the unique programme. These young scholars have also won scholarships from Aviva Life Insurance.
The unique school engagement programme is the channel’s endeavour to extend its popular children’s block ‘Nat Geo Junior’, on-ground to provide an intelligent platform for kids to showcase their talent through a stimulating and invigorating learning experience. It is the hunt for the best young brain in the country, a ‘Aviva Young Scholar Nat Geo Junior’, someone who is articulate, curious, smart and aware; in short a complete all-rounder.
In its third successful year, Nat Geo Junior Hunt reaffirms its credibility as it reaches out to over 400 reputed schools, targeting approximately 4,00,000 children, aged between 10-14 years, across 14 cities in India (Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Cochin and Patna).
“At Aviva, we have a special focus on children and we continuously work towards securing their future, whether through insurance products or opportunities to help them realize their potential. Aviva Young Scholar Nat Geo Junior Hunt is yet another initiative in the same direction. We believe that this is a great platform for young children to showcase their talent and get an opportunity to win Aviva Scholarships”, said Vishal Gupta, Director Marketing, Aviva Life Insurance India.
The city final leg for this nationwide hunt provided a rigorous training ground for children, which started with the innovative ‘Think again’ test. The test was then followed by scientifically designed rounds, which included games, puzzles, debates and thinking out of the box challenges. Two winners were chosen to proceed to the national round.
The 20 young city finalists will represent their respective cities at an adventure camp and only four out of these twenty city finalists will make it to the national finals. The final four will receive further scholarships from Aviva Life Insurance and only one winner will get to host the Nat Geo Junior show for 3-months on the National Geographic Channel, along with a prize money of 1.25 lakh along with other prizes from other partners associated with the hunt. The 3 runner ups will get a prize money of 0.75 lakhs each.
